Corona Pakoda Indian veg recipe (Corona Fritters )

Corona Pakoda (Veg)

Ingredients :



  •  Potato - 2 med size boiled and mashed


  • Spring onion - 1/2 cup finely chopped
  • Cauliflower - 1 
  • Corn starch *- 3 tsp
  • Plain flour ( maida )** - 3 tsp   
  • Ginger galic paste - 1 tsp
  • Salt - 1 tsp or as per taste 

* you can use rice flour in place of corn starch

** you can use besan ( grahm flour ) in place of  maida


Method to prepare horns of corona๐Ÿ˜‰

  1. Wash cauliflower under running water and separate its floret carefully as shown in image .
  2. This will take time , separate only those florets which have thick stem and give them shape by cutting with scissors .  
  3.  Try to keep stem sharp and head rounded ,   keep extra               cuttings of cauliflower aside ,it can be used to make veg balls. 

Making veg balls


1.  Take mashed potatoes in a bowl ,add spring onions ,aside kept  cauliflower cuttings , ginger garlic paste ,salt and pepper .


2.   Mix them well and make lemon sized balls.


3.     In other bowl mix corn starch ,plain flour with water and salt . Mixture should be in flowing consistency .


4.   Take one ball and insert horns on ball carefully , ready all balls with horns inserted on surface of ball .


5.   Now put all the balls in a plate and pour the flowing mixture on each ball ,remember do not dip balls in mixture but pour from spoon separately .


6.   Deep Fry all the Corona balls two at a time and serve with green or red sauce.

Tips :

·      While making horns pick strong and long florets , shape them using scissors
·      Do not dip veg balls in mixture ,pour them on the balls covering horns as well .
I tried this recipe first time,it tastes awesome but does’nt look as good as in this pic . But it was fun making this recipe and my kid enjoys very much.
